What is the purpose of a California Talent Agency Bond?

The California Talent Agency Bond is required by the California Department of Industrial Relations, Division of Labor Standards Enforcement. Talent Agents in California are required by law to be licensed. Any person or entity involved in arranging employment for an artists in the entertainment filed must get a license. Part of the license requirement is a $50,000 surety bond.  This bond guarantees that talent agencies will abide by the contract created between the agency and the artists using that agency.
