North Carolina Professional Solicitor Bond

This surety bond is required by the Department of Secretary of State. The bond states that that the bondholder will act as a “Solicitor” on behalf of a charitable organization or sponsor pursuant to 131F or any rule adopted under 131F of the General Statutes of North Carolina. The bond amount shall be determined as follows:
(a) $20,000–if the contributions received for the last fiscal year were less than one hundred thousand dollars.
(b) $30,000–if the contributions received for the last fiscal year were at least one hundred thousand dollars but less than two hundred thousand dollars.
(c) $50,000–if the contributions received for the last fiscal year were at least two hundred thousand dollars.
In many cases, the premium on this bond is as low as 1.5%.
